Terms of Service

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Welcome to Inscape. By using our website at inscapeapp.com or any of our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully — if you don't agree, you shouldn't use Inscape.

1. What Inscape is

Inscape is an online platform that helps homeowners design their yards, browse plant catalogs, save plans, and connect with local landscaping professionals ("Pros"). Some features are free; others require a paid subscription. Inscape is a tool — we don't perform landscaping work ourselves and we don't guarantee any specific outcome from a Pro you connect with.

2. Your account

To save plans, send quote requests, or appear as a Pro, you need to create an account. You agree to:

If you suspect someone is using your account without permission, let us know at hello@inscapeapp.com right away.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that does these things.

4. Subscriptions and payments

We offer paid subscriptions for homeowners (Premium) and landscapers (Pro / Pro+). When you subscribe:

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply at your next renewal.

5. The marketplace (homeowners ↔ Pros)

Inscape helps connect homeowners with landscaping Pros, but we are not a party to any agreement between you and the Pro. The Pro is responsible for the work they do, their pricing, their license and insurance, and any contracts you sign with them. We don't guarantee that any Pro will respond, meet a deadline, or perform to your expectations.

Before hiring any Pro, you should verify their license and insurance. We do our best to vet listed Pros but we don't independently verify every claim.

6. Your content

When you upload photos, save plans, or post reviews, you keep ownership of what you create. By posting, you grant Inscape a non-exclusive license to display that content within the service (e.g., showing your plan to the Pros you've requested quotes from). You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload whatever you upload.

7. Inscape's content

The Inscape name, logo, design, plant catalog, inspiration content, and software are owned by Inscape and protected by copyright and other laws. You can use them through the service but you can't copy or redistribute them without our permission.

8. No professional advice

Inscape provides general plant information and design ideas. We are not horticulturalists, landscape architects, or lawyers. Plant suggestions are best-effort based on sun/zone/budget inputs; actual outcomes depend on many factors we can't account for (soil, weather, deer, pests, your time). Always consult a licensed professional for advice on your specific situation.

9. Disclaimers

Inscape is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the results will meet your expectations. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Inscape and its founders are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or any damages arising from work performed by Pros connected through the platform. Our total liability for any claim related to Inscape is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your settings (or by emailing us). We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or if we need to discontinue the service. If we terminate your paid account without cause, we'll refund any unused portion of your current billing period.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make a material change, we'll notify you by email or with a notice on the site at least 14 days before the change takes effect. By continuing to use Inscape after the change, you agree to the new terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Cook County, Illinois — unless required otherwise by your local consumer protection law. We both agree to first try to resolve disputes informally by emailing hello@inscapeapp.com.
